Bow advice for my wife

My wife asked about getting a bow! When I asked her why? She said she feels like she is missing out when my son and I are out shooting and wants to join in. We been hitting the range and 3d's shoots a lot. She mentioned when she was in HS she used to shoot a recurve, but wants something that won't hit her arm. She also said she not interested in hunting but just shooting for fun. She advised she doesn't want to invest to much and wants to be simple and low maintenance. I thought about taking my old bow tech and getting that to fit her or maybe looking into a recurve. Any advice on what to look for in a recurve? Brand, poundage, arrows, etc?

Without knowing her strength, size, etc., it's a harder question to answer. If she's not going to hunt, she doesn't need anything with 310 fps speed and 70 lbs pull. Get her on one of the intermediate bows that can dial down to 20-25 lbs and adjust up if she wants. Not sure what your Bowtech is, but if it's too much bow for her she'll get discouraged right out of the gate. My suggestion is get her and the bow into a local archery shop and see what they say. At the very least, they might take the bowtech on consignment toward something more appropriate in her hands.

She is 5-7 and fairly strong. I have a older bowtech patriot. 7 years old or so that I picked up from CDA Sportsmen. I believe I can change the module in the cam to help fit her. set at 65 and I should be able to take most of the weight out just not sure how low I can go with it.

Check out the mission craze or the hoyt ignite. Very adjustable and if she don't use it you and your son can.

Looking up the user manual for the patriot, they have a range of 10 lbs usually, so I assume that yours is 60-70 with a draw length adjustable between 25-30". Let-off is 65%. That's probably too much bow unless she's doing a lot of weights at the gym. I still say to take it and her into an archery shop and have them help you figure it out. Have fun.

I'd recommend a Diamond Infinite Edge.  I can't remember the exact specs on it, but the draw length can be adjusted from 15"-32" and the poundage from like 15-70#.  Very universal, and even at 70# with a 30" draw, they shoot great.

The diamond is a great option. ID take her to shoot some bows an see what she likes the feel of.

I was just looking at this at Cabela's yesterday.  Your very close to the specs, #5 - 70 & 13" - 32"  @ $349.99.  They have pink ones too for those who prefer the color.

+1 on the infinite edge.  My 10 year old daughter has one and when my wife uses it it only take a few minutes to adjust the draw and weight.

NW... It all depends on what you want to spend. For the $$, I feel like you cant beat the Infinite Edge or the Mission Craze...
