Thanks for all the responses maybe i need to just find some hunting buddies like Ghost hunter said. Thanks for the advice im only 19 so i need all the help i can get. Getting into these expensive sports isnt easy when you dont know where to go.

Cooke Canyon Hunt Club by E'burg has a good reputation.  I've never hunted there myself but heard good things.  I bet they'd put you with a guide and dog for an afternoon if you wanted to shoot some birds and see what Upland is all about.

Good luck, it's lots of fun!

Most hunt clubs are shut down from the end of march till August
But in season I would say Doug at Cooke canyon is your guy and they do run guided with some very good dogs

Can you manage a dog of your own for the next 12-15 years and are willing to drive a day? This is your dog

Better yet (although you can't do much better than an English Setter) they have a bunch of good looking bird dogs or varus age and breeds.

If you want to try your hand at duck hunting, hit me up during the season and you can head out with me sometime.

If you ever want to get out during the season you can hunt with me and my dog i am 19 as well. I mostly duck hunt since theres no good pheasant or upland bird at all besides grouse over on the westside but i get over towards your area and past quite a bit during the upland season
