They are on my radar, but unfortunately a few years out, probably 3-4 years out.  It would be a blast though, I want to go to either New Mexico or Wyoming.

Montana, is guaranteed, you still have to apply by the June first deadline, I believe the hunt code is 900 for archery. Idaho is "over the counter"

If you want a rifle tag I would go with wyoming.  Lots of units with 100% draw odds that have a lot of public land.  Also it only cost $8 to apply in new mexico.  If you want to go archery montana or idaho have otc tags.  Nevada, oregon, colorado, and utah all have decent odds of drawing but you will pay more money to get in the draws in those states.  Wyoming you do have to pay for the tag up front, but if you put in for an easy to draw unit you will draw so who cares.  If you want to know some units to apply in in wyoming that have good odds and lots of public land pm me.  I can also help you out with all of the states that i have listed.  That is tell you units that have lots of public land.
