shortening dynthetic stock on muzzle loader?
« on: May 03, 2014, 06:15:45 PM »
Maybe some one here can give me some first hand experience.
My girlfriend is pretty small in stature, and cannot shoulder my traditions ml very good, it looks like cutting about 1-11/2" off would be enough to make it work easy enough.

Not sure if I can cut it down somehow, or just need to look for a youth model gun.
If I can find a youth model .50 cal inline for under 250  I'd be all over it as well, but if I can make the traditions work, that's 250 $ towards a new ml for me  :IBCOOL:

If you can track down a used stock for reasonable it would be worth it. often thought about this for many standard size cheaper rifles to start kids on. I had my first rifle stock cut down 4 inches or so. Wood was easy enough to dowel and keep butt for original length. Still shoot that rifle many years later.
