Resolution
« on: May 02, 2014, 01:18:50 PM »
Picked up my cape and antlers from Michelle earlier. She refunded nearly all of the $ I had paid her. Waiting for the cape to thaw so I can confirm it is mine.

I would never do any kind of business with her again. I would never recommend anyone take their trophy to or engage in any business transaction with her.

If anyone is looking for quality taxidermy work at a fair price from a hard working guy who understands the importance and value of customer service give Paull Durbin at Elk Plain Taxidermy a call.

Once it thawed I was able to confirm it is in fact the cape from my deer. Dropped the cape and antlers off with Paull at Elk Plain Taxidermy this evening to be mounted. He is also mounting my buck from last season. Once they're done I'll post up some pics.

I second the work that Paul does. He did my wife's buck earlier this year, has my elk now and is doing a couple of buddy's deer and elk.  He does fantastic work and tells you the honest truth about when your animal will be done. He keeps you very well informed the hole time. Thanks again Paul

Could not have said it better. Saw your elk yesterday when I dropped off my deer-it looks great! Nice bull!

I'm glad you were able to get your items back from MNT.   Looking forward to hearing more about this taxidermist, and seeing your finished product.

Just curious....you gave her the cape 18 months ago and it hadn't been sent to the tannery yet?

The cape had been tanned.
As far as I'm concerned she did 2 things right in my case. #1 she refunded the majority of what I had paid her. #2 she had the cape tanned. Other than that her decisions as it pertains to responding to my questions and being a good business owner were the worst I've ever experienced. I can tell you it didn't appear there was much in terms of active taxidermy work going on in her shop so it's good to see all of her poor decision making catching up to her.

It was most likely wet tanned for a shoulder mount. Not leather tanned.

so glad this has been worked out, BUT, i think its time the powers that be, pull the plug on her advertising and putting people through this and call a spade a spade, and end all advertising and business transactions by her via hunt-wa. Nobody should work so hard for their trophy and go through this. again glad its all worked out somehow
