Yes you would need to buy a separate application.

Ok,Kind of a no brainer I guess but the lady at cabelas told me this was the app. lol.So like I thought the any ram is only going to be good for 5000-5011 choices and I would need an adult ewe for 5012-5013?

Yes, that's correct. They do it that way so they can sell more applications.

Personally, I don't feel a ewe is worth the $330 tag.

So I have been buying points for years now to accumulate enough to hopefully draw. What are those points going too, ram or ewe? Or will it only matter once I try to draw? I assumed they were good for both. Great question by the way stevemiller. One I didn't know I had.

You should have points in both categories. Whatever points you had in 2009 for sheep would have been put into each of the new categories. So let's say you started in 1996 when the point system began, you would have had 14 points placed in the ram category and 14 points in the ewe category. If you haven't applied in the ewe category since they created it, you still just have the 14 points in that category. You probably have been applying in the ram category, after the new categories were created, so you could have 19 points this year in the ram category and 15 in the ewe category (after you submit this year's application).

I agree, and I'll take that $330 and go play in another state.

I agree for a ewe permit....but that $330 unfortunately is not going to get you very far to "play" in another state......as far as sheep go...
