I always suggest taking hunter orange when bear hunting for that successful pack out. Even a small bear quarter on a pack in thick brush can look like a bear. Better to be safe than sorry.

It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

My level of sarcasm depends on your level of stupidity...

So because I hold a modern firearm permit for spring bear I am required to wear hunter orange. At least that's what I am getting after I read the above link

No.......Its only required if you are hunting in a unit during a modern firearm elk or deer season. Don't believe there are any modern firearm deer or elk units currently open.

•Anyone hunting in an area that is open for modern firearm deer or elk hunting must meet hunter orange requirements if they are hunting any of the following species: Bear, Bobcat, Cougar, Coyote, Deer, Elk, Fox, Grouse, Hare, Rabbit, or Raccoon.

Not that I am a fan of hunter orange, but with all the hyped up idiots running around with a gun, you might think about it.  Just ask the gal in the blue coat from a year or two ago.
It is perfectly legal to hunt bear during this season without it as mentioned above.

I like orange. I wear it during Oregons rifle deer season even though its not required.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

It was six years ago now. ;)

I wouldn't hunt without orange on.

I wouldnt be hacking a qtr off a bear with the hide still attached

Ill wear orange in ID rifle season with that zoo, but when your out with only 15 or 25 total permit holders I am not worried about it

Probably should have had more orange on when we were packing this one. :chuckle: Half a bear with the hide on. Bottom half was skinned out and on my back.
