I find that when they're coming in, 1/3 of the time they'll gobble, 1/3 spit-n-drum. 1/3 sneak in unannounced. When they go silent doesn't mean they left the area even if they don't come in ... patience and persistence ... use his natural curiosity and sex drive against him until he's ready to commit.

It was SSOOOO hard Sunday NOT too call everytime they gobbled, out of view about 50yds away and could hear the Drum" BBbuuummmmm...Bbbuuummmm" but they were in view of my decoy so I would purr a cluck a little like I was feeding and paying them no mind. So so hard not to call.
