HELP Rip Cord Code Red hangs up!!!
« on: April 27, 2014, 07:47:08 AM »

Here is my video on YouTube. When I flick the cord the rest hangs up.  When I lightly let off pressure the rest falls nicely.

I bought the rest from a friend and it never hung up on him.  We lubed it and checked the cord, everything looks good.

Why is my setup not working?  Anyone experience this?

Have you sent the video link to Ripcord?  Their warranty service is beyond compare.

I just bought a Rip Cord rest a few days ago and I had the same thing happen during the first day of shooting it. I took it back in and we couldn't figure out what the issue was. I got to exchange it for a new one. It cost me two brand new broad heads and the fletchings on one of my arrows though. The tech said that it could have possibly been tied too loose or too tight. Maybe check that out.

You can damage those if you have them too tight when setting them up.  Oiling them can cause trouble too.  It happened often when they first came out because the hole was too small for the cord.  They've since fixed that and it looks like you have the better model.

How does it work when you shoot the bow?
Did you take it apart?

It's a pain to get the spring back to the right tension.  Often guys don't get it back into that same position when they replace the cord.

JLS is correct about their warranty service.  Best in the business, if you ask me!  No question they will get you up and working properly in no time.

We called ripcord.  They said send it in, so we did.  I'll keep this tread up to date so we can have closure.  Thanks everyone.
