Love mine. Broke in very quickly. I have issues with boots tearing up my heels, so I have to be very choosy with my boots, these don't give me hotspots on my heels. Very comfortable. Time will tell how they last, I've had em out in wet grass and rain and they haven't leaked at all. My feet don't get damp from sweat at all either. Very happy so far.

I have the Perfekt hunters.  Honestly one of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn.  Broke in extremely quick, NEVER leak, and there is a ton of ankle support for side hilling and climbing on steep ground. Can't go wrong!

I have to say, I had a simalir Meindl and heres  my take on them on email I sent to the company

I am very unhappy when after 4-5 years they have developed a cracked sole that my local shoe repair shop says is not repairable and the boots are considered disposable.

I payed good money ($280) for these boots and want you to know I am not a satisfied customer.

Watch anything with a bonded vs stitched sole- cant usually be fixed if needed.

I have 3 pairs of Danners, the original elk hunters from 80s, Raptors and the new Trophy 10" Brown .
IMO I would go with danner's or spend the extra money for Kennetreks

After seeing a never ending stream of complaints on here about Danners, I'd never even consider them.
I've got the Meindl/Cabelas Perfekt Hunters and they've been great. Zero complaints. I do maintain them with Obenauf's but they've been all over in all sorts of terrain from tumbleweeds and rattlesnakes to the top of Mt Adams and they've never let me down.
Kenetreks are great too if you don't mind putting 50 miles on them before your feet stop bleeding.

I just bought the perfekt hunters and everything about them feels great, i love the insoles. For some reason i am still unsure about them though everything about them feels/looks great. I think it is just the price tag shock as this is my first pair of boots over 200$

I bought a pair of Perfekt hunters about 4 years ago.  Last fall right before hunting season I noticed the stitching on a seam on the back of one boot was separating.  I took them to Cabela's (with the receipt) and they gave me a prorated refund on the boots.  They were nearly 4 years old and if I remember right I got about 60% of what I paid for them back.  I turned right around and put that toward a brand new pair of Perfekts.  I also own a pair of un-insulated Meindl/Cabelas ultralights, and I love these boots.  I didn't think I would find a more comfortable boot than the perfects, but the ultralights are better.  I have even convinced my fiancé to get a pair of their women's hiking boots.  Even if I have to get a new pair of these every 4 years, with Cabela's lifetime warranty on them I'm fine with it.

I got mine for $66 in the Bargain Cave. Nothing wrong with them, never worn, never laced, still had the tags on them.

Mine are 5 years old minimum, maybe more. Soles are showing wear, but the leather is good to go.

Many of the European style boots are resoleable, maybe your shoe guy didn't have the expertise to do so?  I've had Lowas resoled, although it does depend on the boot.

I used to worry about the price tag too.  Now, I don't even think twice about dropping three Benjamins on a pair of boots.  It is well worth it.

Well I tried Cabelas first and the guy I talked to said not without a receipt, recommended to contact Meindl which I did with no reply.
The fit was good and I liked them, right up to the sole cracking.
Thanks for the info on resoling, I only tried one cobbler in town and thats what he told me.

Good luck with your boots
sticking with my Danners

I feel the same about Kennetrek. At least you got a year, and not 2.5 months.
