What do you fellow elkaholics do in between elk seasons for your off season activities?  Coach little league, chase shiny salmon, build alder porch furniture, golf, work on an old classic car?  Just curious what holds your interest when not in pursuit of the elusive wapiti  ;)

Photography is pretty fun... and addicting. To be honest: even if ammo were free, I have more fun going out with my camera and shooting things than I do sitting on a bench rest plinking rounds off at a steel target.  :yike:

When I was young and single and living in Montana, I spent a lot of my free time wandering the hills and mountains.  I was shed hunting, bear hunting, or fishing mountain lakes.  I called every trip a scouting trip and I could find elk in the country south of Livingston, Montana.  Of course the sad part of my story started when I moved to Washington state to actually make some money.  Now I just read internet chat rooms or my Bugle magazine and do my scouting on the computer.  I always promise myself I will get out a few times after the snows recede and walk the country I will hunt, but you know, it is always something.

I'm working on some "software" that will figure out where everyone's honey hole is.  :chuckle:

I stay in shape at the gym, go hiking, camping, golfing and pretty much anything outside. Wenatchee is great for outdoor activities.

I spend my time in the spring turkey hunting, then it's fishing through the summer. Of course camping in the hills and hiking. Don't tell the wife but some of those camping trips and hikes are scouting opportunities.  Can't forget about the spring and summer basketball tasks my son has that I get roped into.

My chores at the house/property outside of the metropolis that is Rainier keep me pretty busy during the off elk season.  I do like to golf but unfortunately, don't get out much any more.  I do have one "in between" that gets my attention each nice weekend in the summer.  I actually sold my 2007 Smokercraft Phantom16 (ah ha, now you know where I got my forum handle from) to finish the restoration on my old Chevy.  Here's my third favorite chick (#3 behind wifey and daughter).  She's a 68 Chevelle.  Wifey and I try to get big red out every chance we get and scare the pants off on the twirps riding around in their fart exhaust cars  :chuckle:

Phantom, that is super nice. One sexy car.  You must look real good driving it.

In the off-season, I watch a lot of soccer in the rain. Trail run, obstacle race, and find new and interesting ways to stay in shape.
