Enlarging (Milling) an AR15 Ejection Port
« on: May 13, 2014, 10:03:25 PM »
I'm building an AR-15 upper receiver in  .458 SOCOM. The ejection port on the upper receiver that I'm going to use needs to be enlarged.

I need to enlarge (mill) out the ejection port on it. I need to have 0.020" milled off the top edge and 0.095" milled off the bottom edge of the ejection port.

Does anyone know of a machinist/gunsmith around Western Washington that could do that for me?

Thanks,

sam

Call Benchmark barrels, they may be able to do it. I know they can, I just don't know if they will enlarge a ejection port for someone.

I just did mine for a .50 Beowulf with a Dremel, flat file and then fine sandpaper. It wasn't professional but it looked fine and works fine.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!
