Son shoots first big Tom
« on: May 12, 2014, 10:55:38 AM »
Well don't have much of a story to tell because it was a run and gun sneak job but it turned out to be the biggest tom shot in are family and the first for my son, a wall hanger for sure and going to the taxidermist today! 22.5lbs with a 11 inch beard and 1 1/4 spurres. Nothing better than hunting with the kids! :IBCOOL:

Looks like a Merriam with the bright white on the tail feathers .... Rios are more yellowish/tan.

Heck yeah!  He told me how he was getting it mounted turkeyslayer. That'll look great! Of course when he told me the story he said the beard was 11.5. :chuckle:
