I got the new bow setup and I love this thing.  The grip is perfect for me, smooth draw, solid back wall and quiet/dead. The only thing I can complain about is the slightly heavy starting weight.

XXX G-Strings, QAD hDx, custom Black Gold Ascent, Spider 10" carbon stabilizer.

I ordered this with 80 lb limbs. Well it arrived sitting at 85 lbs. Thank God the draw on this bow is amazing!!!  It is shooting a 530 gr Black Eagle Rampage at 308 fps.

I forgot to mention the machine work on the Elite is second to none. The riser and cams are flawless making the fit and finish spot on.

It really jumps out at you, doesn't it?  Makes you wonder why everyone doesn't do that    Obviously doesn't cost that much more to do.  Just a dedication to the finished product.

very nice set up! 85 pounds??? holy crap man, I didn't know they went that high.  Must be an 80% let off?  I'm not that knowledable about bows but I've heard the poundage doesn't mean as much as people think? If you shoot good with 55 pounds, is it just better to have 70 or 80 pounds?  I currently have a 68 pound bow that when I shoot I some times get that jump forward before I'm ready to shoot.  Should I go down to 60 pounds or get an 80% let off bow?  I have no problem pulling a heavy bow back, but just wondering if I'd shoot more consistantly with a 50 to 60 pound bow? I ordered the bow with the idea of speeding up my 530 gr arrow and it was a success. The let off is 85%.

As far as the creep you are talking about it comes down to the backwall which depends on the cam design. Some cam designs always want to creep where some are solid. Let off definitely affects the holding weight but for me design seems to be a bigger factor. Also some guys shoot better with lower let off as it forces their muscles to stay more engaged through the shot.

That is a form issue and not a poundage issue.  Also known as the Hoyt Conundrum.  Going up or down in poundage or holding weight probably won't change a thing.  Sometimes is the side effect of having too long of draw length, being closed to the target or just simple lack of concentration.  A good coach, true tension release, clicker or combination thereof will put a quick end to it.

Your good, I have a maxxis 31 and a short draw that prob should be shorter!  When I draw my quality muzzy tag and go full time bow, Id love to pick your brain on a new set up!

Trophy, you need to shoot this bow before you buy anything else.  The smooth draw and solid back wall are awesome.  Along with the fact that it almost feels like you have to push the string forward before it takes off, is awesome!  It seems like you can hold it forever and there is very little "pin bounce" so I THINK my shooting will improve and Blair will quit kicking my ass so bad at these bow shoots!!!

I forgot the specs:

28" draw, 402 grain arrow, 61# = 271fps

Not a speed bow, but plenty fast for what you gain in "shoot-ability"

I REALLY want to get one of these bows.  Only problem is I have a 31.5-32 inch draw cause I am 6'6".  They made the pure last year that goes to 31.5 but changed the 35 to a max at 31.  Not sure if you can do any mods to the now to get some extra draw length out of the 35?  I heard rumors that elite was going to make a longer draw bow but who knows.  I am keeping my eye out for a new 2013 pure.

That "over 31" niche has become increasingly difficult in all manufacturers lately.  Not sure why as it seems more and more Big & Tall shooters are taking up the sport.  Bowtech's CPXL is a real dandy for the long draw shooter.  Hoyt Factor LD, PSE Freak SP and Bear Anarchy are about all the 31.5"+ Binary or Hybrid cam hunting bows left these days.  Ten years ago there were probably 20 or more options.

Yeah as a new shooter myself, finding a 31 or 31+ bow was difficult, especially in a entry level budget bow that goes under 60#.  With a 31.5" measured draw and some beat up shoulders from years of throwing in school, it was a real concern.  Seems that most of the bows over 30" are 60# minimum.  Being unsure of how I would do or if my shoulders could handle the stress I was not about to drop $500 on a base bow and then have to outfit it with sights, quiver etc.

I stumbled on a 2012 Parker Velocity as NOS closeout.  Nice starter setup, only issue I have is it is a bit loud, but the tunability of draw length and draw profile is pretty nice and adjustable without a press.

Course the bug is now fully set and I am dreaming of some new hotness..   Thanks for the info guys, this thread has been helpfull!!

Mathews has a mr8 and a z9 that are both up to 32".  I am currently shooting a alpine that goes to 31.5.  I'll have to do some more research on the elites.

Z9 is 30" A2A.  There are some other options if that short of bow interests you.  But I agree that researching Elite sounds like a good idea.  That's a lot of features for the money spent.  And they are just plain gorgeous.  Their good looks, fine finish and deadly performance makes them the Femme Fatale of bows
