2008 Nooksack 7X6
« on: November 27, 2008, 07:42:02 PM »
This is my 2008 Nooksack 7X6. Bull weighed 490# hanging at the locker. My cousin Jeff and I both drew tags, he got a nice 7X7. It was neat that my parents and Grandson Austin had come up the evening before to share in the fun on Sunday morning. Many thanks to the great folks who gave us permission to hunt. They shall remain nameless for privacy reasons.

That is a beautiful bull. Congratulations.

Do you think that hunt is worth twelve years of preference points? I am contemplating putting in for the archery permit next year.

That's a nice looking animal but I'm not so sure about the pack out.....I thought you had to work a little harder to get those animals to the truck :) I'm having trouble finding the rocky cliffs and devils club in those pictures....

If it's ok with you and Jeff I can post pictures of his elk along with these when I get back from my late hunt on Monday. I certainly enjoyed your generosity in sharing the experience with me. Ryan

Congrats on the nice bull. Looks like the same place my buddy punched a big muzzleoader bull last year. ;)

Great bull Tony! I was hoping you were going to post pics from your hunt. Olson forwarded your e-mail of yours and Jeff's bulls to me. Sounds like a great hunt!

Great looking bull, congrats!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Great looking Elk.  Is this one Austins too?  :chuckle:

You noticed the deer posting. Yep, Austin's too. I had told my cousin, Jeff the evening before when Mom, Dad and Austin came up, if I saw any bull that was reasonably good, I was putting it on the ground. Not often you can get your Dad, Grandson in a picture with a good bull. I wouldn't have traded the moment for a state record bull taken alone. Dad taught me to Elk hunt, Mom taught me to deer hunt, I've shared with my son what they've taught me, Austin's and my other grandson William are the next in line to learn the family tradition.
