Here is one from Winthop area three years ago.  Don't know the size of the photos, so if it's too large could you please resize them for my entries?  thanks.

I had drawn a hound permit a few years ago.  My buddy took me up with three of his dogs.  We put on over 200 mi. in three days on the snowmobiles looking for fresh tracks.  We got on one cat down by the river, big it was a smart old cat and lost the dogs in the river.  Just before we were leaving, we cut the track of this cat crossing a road and walking across a log over the river.  We physically had to throw the dogs across the river to get them started!  So once the dogs took off, we had to go back down the road a couple of miles before we could start up the ridge with the dogs.  When we got up there, we got on the tracks and we could see where the cat had layed down on the edge of the road and was watching the dogs working up the ridge, very cool.  So after another mile or so, we came around the corner behind this little lake and could hear the dogs barking "treed".  So we walked in and found them.  Seeing the cat in the tree was the most amazing sight.  I had heard about it but never saw it until that day, but it is true that when a mtn. lion looks at you, it seems like they are looking right through you....definetly raised the hair on my neck.  After about ten minutes of watching and taking pics. I decided to harvest the cat.  I actually had to hit it in the nose with a snowball to get it to move to a clear spot for a shot!  It was an amazing experience and I would do it again in a heart beat.  And for those who think it is unethical or unfair.....try it, it was way more work and effort than I ever expected!  But it was sure a lot of fun!

maybe not as good a quality of photo as the others but I took this while hiking to where I could get some shots of the valley floor where I got my buck. Pend Oreille river from Gibralter peak/point above CCA creek where fire lookout used to be. towns of Cusick & Usk in distance on oppsite side of river.

better photo(IMO) than the 1's posted earlier. shows buck, ice, frost, rifle. Not trash around his right base, that's the stick I used to hold him up for photos.

My two knuckle heads out playing in the snow today.  Josie aka Boo is the yellow and Diesel aka Bubba is the Black.  Boo is loving life as it was almost cut short by the tanted dog food a year and a half back.
