Drop off at taxidermist...
« on: May 27, 2014, 08:22:25 PM »
Quick question... When you guys are dropping off at taxidermist place your bucks heads or anything that needs to be done by taxidermy. Do you guys get some kind of a receipt or paper work from them? Thanks

Absolutley, anytime you give them money you should get a reciept in return.
What would life be without the thrill of the hunt?

This is what I would do. You've basically got a written contract at that point.

Definitely!!  If you wait, you're asking for trouble because all it would take is a little bit of disorganization, dishonesty, or an honest mistake by the taxidermist to come to loggerheads when it comes time to pick up your trophy and the taxi is asking for the full amount.  Without a receipt showing you have partially paid you won't have a leg to stand on.  Without a receipt you don't even have proof of when your trophy was dropped off, that your trophy is in the taxidermist's possession, or what the contracted full payment amount is.

:yeah: to everything that was previously stated.
I will add that I dont usually worry about it when I drop my stuff at my taxi. He has done enough for me over the years that we are really good friends now. We both help each other out.

If I was the taxi dealing with one to two hundred transactions a year there is no way my feeble mind could remember how much a person gave me a year ago, or what was owed. RECEIPT

I agree with what has been said here. Also your receipt will show what type of animal you dropped off with a description.

Without a receipt you are just one bad mood or argument away from never seeing your trophy again!

Your taxi could get killed in a car wreck and whoever takes care of his stuff will have no way of knowing you are telling the truth or not when you say that you have something coming to you.
