Asking for some help
« on: May 28, 2014, 06:18:52 AM »
So....before this things blows up with the "here we go again" comments and the like.......it appears that being patient, understanding, encouraging etc. are not the way to get anything done.  It seems that the guys on here that air the unfortunate situation they are in are the only guys who get any results.

What I'm looking for is someone who lives close by or personally knows Michelle who can get a straight answer on what is up.  I have prepaid in full for two rugs and live 5 hours from there.  I'm looking for advice and am NOT looking for another thread of unproductive bashing (if I want to see that, there are plenty of other threads to read up on).  I'd like some advice on who could finish the work and how best to attempt getting refunded for work prepaid but not completed.

If I could find someone willing to do this for me, I'd like to work out with them how I could make it worth their while.

Thx,
Gringo

I'm sorry you have had to go through this. Hopefully it will work out. Is the bear in your avatar one of the rugs?

I hate to say it but, do it yourself and not have somebody else do your dirty work. I mean come on........It's your deal, drive the 5 hours and confront her. That's what I'd do.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Campmeat,
I can see how this may have come across as looking for someone to do my "dirtywork".  That wasn't my intent.  I have no problems facing conflict.  I do have trouble getting very far from home.  If someone was closeby and willing, I'd be willing to work something out for their trouble.  My biggest fear is driving over there to then not be able to find her......then what?

Where are you located? I can offer no advice on your dealings with Michelle but depending on where you are located, I or others could offer a reference to a taxidermist close to you to finish the job once you get your bears back.

Driving five hours on a chance she might not open the door to you is a risk and pretty crappy but I don't see another option to get your stuff back.

I'm assuming you've tried all the contact numbers and addresses for her and have got no response back?

I know. If you drove over there, you probably couldn't find her anyhow........

I had issues with a Taxidermist in Kansas City MO. a number of years back. I tried after two years to get my property back, once he found out I wanted to discontinue business with him he was never home, never would return my calls, after a year of that, I called and left a message as a potential client, he called right back and we set up a time for me to come see his work and possibly leave deposit......  I flew from Wa. to Kansas City and met him, he was there anxiously waiting to meet his new client....surprise! I returned with my property. There is ways to deal with these people, by the way,the state authorities were no help in my case.

You may not want to see another bashing thread but I honestly think that kind of negative attention (yet again) is your best chance of getting a resolution.  That is, assuming you have been getting the same run around that so many others seem to get with her.

If she won't reply at all,... Small claims?  Sometimes just getting served is sufficient to change a person's tune.  Might not, but it can't hurt.  If she doesn't show to court, then record the judgement in superior court and you have a lien on her home and a mar to her credit record.  You'll have to go prepared to establish the value of your property in her possession and that can't be based on your opinion.  I know there's no money that can replace the stuff, the purpose of a suit is to get the ball rolling again.
