Skagit Bear
« on: May 30, 2014, 09:01:08 AM »
I was lucky enough to draw a Skagit tag after 4 years and was excited to spend sometime in the country I had been hiking into for years.  I hunted about 15 total days and saw 11 bears before I shot this one.  I came across this guy by taking a short cut back to my truck cutting through a clear cut and some timber instead of walking the road I had come in on.  It gave me a perfect broadside shot at about 100 yards when it walked out onto a log suspended about 10 feet off the ground.  Got to share the recovery and pack out with my old man and little brother which I couldn’t have been happier about.  It was a great time with lots of opportunities. Hope to draw it again. Thanks for reading!
