Anyone play Minecraft/Terraria type games when not outside?

My son, 12 yr old, is looking for other kids to play games with online since he is the only kid his age on the island.  I'd like to find some kids that actually enjoy outdoor activities as well as I think he needs this influence too.

my 13 y/o son plays Minecraft, when he is allowed to use the laptop after homework and chores.
