Panaramio and Google Earth
« on: June 02, 2014, 11:45:51 PM »
Hey, so I posted before about Panaramio and Google Earth in the "general area" before and nobody seemed at all interested...

I think it's kind of cool...

You take nice scenic pictures, upload them to www.panaramio.com, you geo locate them, and Google uses them in Google Earth.

People navigating around Google Earth see the little picture icon and click on it and they can see what the area looks like.

I guess this assumes that people know what Google Earth is.

Here are some of examples (zooming in).

NW Washington View:

Zoomed in real close:

If you click on one of the square "photo" icons, you'll see photos submitted by users:

Anyway, I have a bunch of photos that I've posted from my travels. I just think it's cool to share photos from far off places as well as near by (unique) places.

Here are the links to my photos on panaramio... I have two accounts... one is loosely mountaineering and vacation with a DSLR camera and the other is more local with a cell phone camera:

Mountaineering and Vacation Pictures (it just kind of evolved that way) with a DSLR:

Local with a Cell Phone:

Does any one else do this?

Feel free to share your pictures (link).

Thanks,

Peace out.

I'm not revealing my hunting spots.  :-)

Cool tool.

I haven't posted pics but I certainly enjoy checking them out on Google Earth.
