What Did You Just Step In?
« on: June 03, 2014, 02:32:05 PM »
Here are a handfull of trail bombs you may encounter during your elk woods adventures. Can you name which animals they came from? I will tell you that there are "offerings" from a mountain lion, moose, wolf, brown bear, bobcat, coyote, black bear, and elk pictured. We'll do tracks after this thread runs for a bit  ;)

From #1 to #8, who provided these scat piles for our viewing enjoyment?

It would be easier to guess if there was a standard for size in the picture. A coin or compass laid next to the "offering".

Well here I go:

1) Brown Bear
2) Mountain Lion
3) Black Bear
4) Wolf
5) Elk
6) Moose
7) Coyote
8) Bobcat

Ya, I know it's tough without something laid by the "offerings" for size comparison.  Some very close guesses though.

1.  Black Bear
2.  Bobcat
3.  Brown Bear
4.  Coyote
5.  Elk
6.  Moose
7.  Mt. Lion
9.  Wolf

Dang, got all of them right except had wolf and coyote switched. With something there for Scale I might have got it all.
