I've had good experience, but with Washington taxing you you can find the same price locally on most newer guns, still a good source for older guns though.

After paying the shipping, the FFL fee, and the sales tax, it's now cheaper in most cases to buy locally.

I would only buy something used and for a great price with the WA tax now, I wouldn't buy anything new off gunbroker.  I have a bought quite a few guns off of gunbroker and a ton of shotgun shells and have never had a bad experience.

Iv'e used it a time or two with good results.  Tax wasn't an issue for me because I bought a Muzzleloader so it shipped straight to me.  Anything that requires an FFL is different, but you can shop around and at least try to find the cheapest transfer fees.  That helps with the overall cost too. All depends on what you are looking for.

The only thing I've used Gunbroker for was to sell a rare gunstock, and the exchange was good.  Never dealt with an FFL item, so I can't give an opinion there...

You are stuck paying tax as mentioned.  Many brick and mortar stores will hit you with a $50FFL feel also.  Kitchen table FFL's can be in the $25 range. 

My recommendation, is find a local Kitchen FFL, and contact them with the gun you are looking for.  chances are they will quote you a price lower than the brick and motar or inline places will.

I've bought quite a few guns off gunbroker. I've always have a positive experience, the only thing I have to complain about is not all sellers will leave you any feedback so it takes a little longer than it should to build up a good reputation there. It's a great place to find guns that aren't made anymore, if you can be patient  you'll often find something NIB or very lightly used.

Like others have said all good transactions but once the WA gobment started enforcing the tax collection and the FFL fees have gone up, it's hard to get a good deal, that you can't find local.  I've bought a bunch of reloading brass from there.  Love it when it comes in the mail.  The boxes are too big to fit in my mailbox so the carriers forced to walk it to my door.  More than once she reminds me that 'it's illegal to ship bullets through the mail'.  She hears the shells rattling against each other and assumes it's loaded bullets.

It's the same lady that sees the dozen gun mags and reloading supply catalogs that comes every month.  Bet she wishes she could see inside my safe!

She's an idiot. It's perfectly legal, I've had live ammunition shipped to my residence many times.

gunbroker is ok but find a local dealer cheaperthandirt can ship to.. most of my guns are from cheaperthandirt and work very well despite the costs..my local ace hardware puts only the tax and the $30 holding fee, i fill out the paperwork, pay and leave. just my

I believe United States Postal Service doesn't allow shipment of loaded ammo or anything explosive.  Other carriers are good to go but I don't think USPS allows it. 

Also, not that anyone cares but I'll vent and rant for a bit, that BS tax Wa. charges when you purchase firearms out of state is just that, total and complete BS!!!  Luckily, the FFL I use only charges $20 to do transfers unlike most that charge $35+

I have, a couple of times.  I think she's pissed at me and doesn't want to hear it.  She's had to hand carry 2000 230 grain led cast bullets up my driveway, that I had mailed from Missouri bullet company.  Hard to convince her they aren't loaded 'bullets', when the company it's shipped from has 'bullet' in their name.  That weighed just a little bit more than your normal Christmas card.     Having to work to earn her paycheck was more than she wanted to do.

No, mail lady was wrong.  She was only delivering spent shells and the led bullet that I was going to reload.  She was making the assumption that they were the complete thing.

You can ship the components like the shells and the bullets through the mail.  You can't ship powder, primer, or completed bullets that are ready to fire, through the mail.  Powder, primers and completed bullets have to go through UPS, and maybe Fedex, and be sent as hazardous materials.
