880i Battery Issue
« on: June 22, 2014, 09:54:18 AM »
Curious if any of you have had same issue and any opinions on what may have caused it. Recently bought a Moultrie 880i. I checked it this weekend on 2 weeks soak. It had 72 nice photos over 1 week. However the batteries died 1 week ago leaving the camera hanging out for 1 week dead. Has anyone had this issue with 880i or any other cams for that matter? It should be able to take upwards of 6,000 pics on a battery life depending on settings. I did read something that said it could possibly be a bad SD card??  I have 4 880's that have worked flawless so I cant imagine the 880i is that much different with SD cards. Any help is much appreciated.

I'd say you had bad batteries :dunno:  Unless you're using higher end lithiums, I wouldn't expect to see 6K pics. Especially is colder conditions.

Muley I didn't think about bad batteries. That sure could be the case as well. 6,000 was an exaggeration but I'd expect to get a few hundred at the least on a full load of battery. I thought maybe someone here may have had this issue.

One of my Bushnell trophy cams had 4900 pics on it, 2 month soak and the battery was still at full bars. I'm a with mtnmuley. You got bad batteries.

I did have that issue. Bought a case of 100 Energizer Ultimate Lithium's and after two dead cams within weeks, I figured it out.  Sent them back and got a replacement case.  Never an issue after.
