age consent question
« on: June 06, 2014, 12:07:53 AM »
Can a person under 21 operate a pistol without supervison of their parents?  Like for hunting, can one hunt with one. Also, I feel that I need more protection then my hunting rifles and shotguns while at home I have been looking at the .410 judge.

Boy, I thought this was about something else when I read the subject...

On the first question:  RCW 9.41.240: Possession of pistol by person from eighteen to twenty-one.  http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.240

On the second comment: if you read the ballistics reports for the .410 judge and similar pistols you'll find they are not great. It sounds good on paper ("it's three 9mm bbs!") but in practice not so much. I'll leave the rest of the debate about "best gun for home defense" to others.
