I see you posted in the deer hunting board. If you plan on deer hunting rimrock, scout a lot.  My suggestion is to get familiar with a better area like the LT Murray and Wenas wildlife areas. a lot more deer in those areas than rimrock.

LT and Wenas pretty poor for deer for awhile now, to crowded and more does than bucks.... :sry:

I'm booked this year hunting with the wife's family. But I'm 26 and usually hunt alone. I'm most familiar with cowiche. But have hunted little Naches, Nile, and rimrock/oak creek. Best advice I can give is this. Pay attention to details. What looks like a stick is possibly an antler. Investigate any sounds like twigs breaking or rocks rolling. And most important watch the wind.

The best equipment in the world is useless to the idiot who doesn't understand it.

Thanks for all the tips. I really appreciate it. Maybe next season we can get together for elk hunting since for deer im going way out in the pouge area trying to keep away from the big crowds around here. Im having more trouble finding a spot for elk hunting.
