Good Gunsmith in Spokane?

My wife just inherited a couple of her step-dad's guns: a Remington Wingmaster and a beautiful Remington Model 742 Woodmaster in 30-06.  These guns are old, like 1960's and we would like them checked out before shooting them.  I know of only two gunsmiths in Spokane, Brock's and Mountain Shadow Arms.  Who do you guys use?  Not opposed to driving a bit.  Thanks.

Have you used him?  Have heard mixed things.  He actually built one of my rifles (I bought it from the guy who had it built).  The work on it is good. 

I've heard there's a guy in Spangle or Rosalia that's supposed to be decent.  Don't know his name.

He repaired an old Browning A-5 for me, minor realignment of the barrel to receiver connection, and replaced a firing pin in my Weatherby .25-06.  My BIL does a lot of work to his rifles and he always uses Brocks for the aftermarket items.  He just had them rebarrel, bed, and blueprint his .338wm this past summer.  He has been satisfied with everything they have done.

I also vote for Brocks. Kinda an arrogant guy, but he knows his stuff, and knows how to do the work right.

I've used brocks and been happy with them, there is also a newer place called Mountain Shadow Arms

The gunatorium is a fun old place to look around, but they are expensive.

Brocks seems to be OK. I would take guns to him. He has glass bedded a few rifles for me and the work seems to be quality.

i had a very bad experience at brock's and couldnt recomend him to anyone.  i thought thier customer service was poor thats about the best thing i can say about my experience there. 

ive been using rick bemel out of the indoor shooting range on market.  i heard he also works out of mt shadow arms or what ever its called but have never been there.

of these guys, carlock is killer on tac stuff, big range rifles....late model stuff.
paul has barreled and blued a few guns for a buddy of mine and done nice work, priced right and only 5 minutes from my house. I found out about mel doyle at a show last month. I was inspecting a VERY nicely built 25-06 custom and the work on it was first rate.......and I am PICKY, guy did nice work and the price I was told was beyond fair. bemal is a great smith. the last time I talked to him he was only doing jobs of $800 and up.......call him and ask, don't take that as a don't call him, he does quality and custom stuff. dave rossi has built a few bt 99s for a friend and they are tits, I have heard he is no longer doing work, but again, call down to the gun club or call him.

I cannot say how I feel about brocks.....

Hell Id forgot about Rick Bemal. He tuned and honed my S&W 629. Awesome job, great price and very knowledable guy. Ive called him on a few things and he told me over the phone what to do to fix the problem. Great guy, highly reccommend him, the last card I have of his is for his shop at Sharp Shooting, but I know he's not down there anymore. Might check the yellow pages.

Great info !!!!  Believe it is Paul W who worked a couple of my buddies guns.  Very nice.  And Rossi is the guy I was thinkin of down in Rosalia.... also has worked on my buddies guns and done a good job.

I've never had them do any gunsmithing but I have to agree about the service at brocks.  I like the guys down at Dave's in Nine Mile Falls.  Haven't had any work done there besides having some screws replaced in my scope rings, but have bought guns there and they seem to know what they're talking about.
