it sure amazes me the amount of legal bucks that pop up during the winter. but yet during the hunting season there was alot of guys who never seen a legal deer let alone a buck.

nice pics btw, it must be nice to get out and just watch all these bucks. im jealous

I need to get out in your neck of the woods.  There are a couple pockets I'd like to check out.

WOW, what do you say about so many nice deer. So much character is a lot of those animals. I would like to see the biggest buck you have ever taken a pic of in Washington. Is this what you do for a living, I'm assuming you are a photographer? Doesn't look like you should have a hard time finding a deer in the hunting season.  :chuckle:
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

nope just a hobby, or is that an addiction.  It really doesn't do the justice of all the big bucks I have seen that I didn't get on film, even with camera in hand.  They don't get big by being dumb in this state.  All the deer I take pics of are hunted animals, NO PARK animals, so most of the big ones escape.  Its alot harder to take a picture let alone a good picture of a big buck than shoot one.  Thats part of why I do this.  I love the challenge.  The new lens this year was to help bridge the gap withthe dawn and dusk thing I e-mailed you about.  Alot of times they are very nocturnal and there just isn't the light to get them on film.   This state actaully has animals that will rival any other for the most part.  Not near the quantity, but there are some real monsters hanging around as evidenced with some of the big ones showing up and shed antlers.

Yeah I agree its really tough to get a decent picture of a big deer. . all the big ones I have seen have been in tough enough areas that the only way to get em was to shoot em and they seem to hide better when hunters hit the hills imagine that.

Yeah keeps it interesting. . . if the deer were in parks or fenced in or fed then it would ruin the fun. I am the type of guy I would never pay to harvest a animal that was raised or fenced. DIY is the only way for me.

Are you out hiking most of the time or are you covering ground from a heated blind when you are looking for animals this time of year?
