Cat quotas in Oregon unchanged
« on: June 06, 2014, 07:18:56 PM »
Received this today

OTA members,  I am pleased to tell you that the game commission did not change the bobcat limit in Eastern Oregon. As I said in an earlier email, they had dropped the proposal to limit the Western Oregon bobcat tags.
Thanks to testimony from Jim Soares, Terry Sawyer, Stan Steele, Roy Jackson, and Dave (?) the Houndman's president.
No other issues were presented.
This is the only time in my memory, that a proposal for a change in limits from the Game Commission was not adopted. The only possible downside from this, is that it will be revisited in two years. Which is no surprise, since everything is up for change every two years.
Thanks to everyone who sent letters in opposition to the proposal, we think it made a difference!

Paul Carlisle
OTA Sec.
