We saw one in Dayton last year and it was a shocker to us.

No way! I never knew there were moose down there! :o

This was taken in May in Dayton.

You don't see that every day, a moose actually walking on the sidewalk  :chuckle:

seen a young bull on the lower palouse two weeks ago

There have been more and more moose moving into the Palouse over the last 10 or so years.  Now I see several each year along the Palouse River.  I think they are following the North and South forks of the Palouse River out of Idaho.  Maybe to escape wolf pressure or just expanding territory, but there is starting to be a pretty steady population of them along the Palouse River.  The Palouse River is only 20-25 miles from where the OP spotted the moose.  We've also started seeing more and more moose in the Blues.  They are definitely widening their territory.

I saw a handful very near Pullman during school.  I can think of 4 that I saw within 10 miles of Pullman in Washington during my 4 years.  I think there was at least one more but can't seem to place it.
