Bighorn sheep
« on: June 10, 2014, 08:52:56 PM »

High up a canyon in the eastern Cascades I snuck up on these guys. Very impressive, and maybe my best wildlife pictures ever.

Huh, the photo cropped itself.  The right side of the picture is missing. I'll try another photo....

I was about 100 yards away. The camera is a Canon sx260 with 20X zoom. I'm really impressed with the quality of pictures from a pocket size camera.

Here's another picture...

That's a solid ram and some nice photos.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Well, this is a nice break from obsessively checking WDFW for the sheep tag that I am not going to draw... :chuckle:

Great photos.  That's an old warrior there...

If you guys liked those pictures here are a few more. This one shows why a big ram will "broom" his horns. All the better to see you!
