Bear effect bow any good?
« on: June 11, 2014, 08:40:56 PM »
Hello guys new convert here to bow hunting. Just got myself a bear effect bow, brand new bow. Tried to look at some reviews on google, but couldn't find to many of them at all, found one. If anybody used one or knows someone that has, and there thoughts about it. Thanks in advance.

Very good bow!  A little on the heavy side but loaded with high end features.  Should be priced at $499 instead of $549, but you do get a lot.

It feels pretty good in the hands, haven't fired it yet, need to get some targets. But pulling it, feels very good locks in and stays steady. Going to start practicing tomorrow, hope to make some shots in the targets.  You think I should have it looked at by a now shop before shooting it?  The guy I bought it from shot it twice, and he had it looked at and tuned before that.

Not much to go wrong with that bow.  Should be pretty much new so strings and cables should be good.  If it is out of tune a little it shouldn't bother anything.  If you fear it may be way out of tune then yes have someone look at it.  Wouldn't take a good pro shop any time at all to tell you if all is safe and kosher.
