Yes, all on private property. Do yo know any landowners? If not, I'd look somewhere else.

:yeah: And very well known by the locals.  Many are killed before or between seasons.

Yes, the herd along both sides of the Nisqually river are doing well. But access to private property is the challenge. There continues to be a lot of development encroachment too...

Lots of elk in the Roy and Yelm are. ALL on private property. Coming home from the gym everyday I see multiple herds every day. Good luck without permission. Most are not killed out of season as some MAY think.Very protective of the herds out this way. BIG bulls. Many over 300 inches up to high 375-400 inches.

My step dad works the dam on the Nisqually out of Yelm and sees some dandies!

Saw a dead one tonight on the side of the S curve outside of Tenino on the way back from a car show.  Yes, there are elk around these parts but as many have stated, much of the land that contains them is private.

That cow got hit last night, she was pretty bloated today.  I hit a 2,000 pound black Angus bull at 40 mph in the dark in the rain on that corner.   :chuckle:

Here's some Rainier elk last fall, safe n sound. You wouldn't believe how small an area these elk around here will live in.

Any on the Weyerhaeuser land?

Every once in a while they make their way onto the WeyCo land. I spotted a great 5x6 on the last day of deer season last year.

They come off of the private land every once in a while, you just need to get lucky.

Weyerhaeuser is private land. No public land in the area. You need a Weyerhaeuser permit to access.
