Here is what can happen if you do your homework. I drew a late hunt permit.
Surrounded by no hunting lands. I found a way in. I have never hunted whitetail. I only hunted mules.
There were deer everywhere and they never had been hunted.
From the time I left the truck to downing the 4 point was less than an hour. I never saw a human track.
It was on public land. I had to use 6 points to get drawn, but it was worth it.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

I am a mulie specialist and although I have shot 5 and 6 point mule deer with wide racks, this is the only whitetail I have shot in my life.
