The Second Amendment in a troubled world
« on: June 20, 2014, 05:32:55 PM »
Clouded in arguments about assault weapons, high capacity magazines, and “gun free” zones the true purpose and value of the Second Amendment gets trampled upon.

Iraq.
North Korea.
Nigeria.
Sudan.
Egypt.
China
Thailand.
Eritrea.
The Congo.

In country after county, in every continent of the world nations are being brutally invaded and having freedoms and the rights of her citizens stripped.

Pick up a newspaper or check a news web source (which as Americans we still have the freedom to do) and you read of a new atrocity occurring just about every day, somewhere in the world.

Could this happen in the United States? What makes us any different these other countries? What is protecting us from these types of despotic takeovers?

It’s time for gun rights advocates to point out that we as Americans have freedoms that are the envy of much of the world. We fought for them and shed blood to protect them. Our founding fathers recognized the value and fragile nature of freedom and wrote a bill or rights. Included in the bill of rights is the second amendment which allows citizens to bear arms in protection of our freedom.

If a tyrant or militant group wants to take over our country, would you prefer that our citizens be armed, or unarmed?
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

very well put sir.  :yeah:

While I agree with your point I would point out that in Iraq every house is allowed one fully automatic AK and 50 rounds of ammunition, at least thats how it was when I was there.

Specifically why everyone should belong to the NRA and as many other gun rights organizations as possible.  :twocents:
