After 12 days in the Selkirks I finally pulled the trigger on a Bull.
My Son In Law and I spent from Oct. 3th to the 13th looking for rutting Bulls. The best Bull we turned up was broken at the top of his passenger side paddle. If it matched the other side he was missing 4 points and 5 or 6 inches of paddle. It looked like it was broken off the night before. I told my SIL that I had to pass on the Bull. He wasn't real happy with me but understood the OIL tag.
From there I headed to Idaho for an annual Muley hunt off of dirt bikes. I broke 2 ribs on Oct. 29th and new that would come to haunt me on the Moose hunt.
Back To the Selkirks on Nov. 3rd. Nothing but Cows and small Bulls. I finally found another descent bull on Wed. the 5th way up in the high country. 60 yards above the skidder road . I couldn't pass him up. Did I mention I was solo? Moving that big SOB around with 2 broke ribs, by myself, was a chore to say the least. 4 1/2 hrs and I had him loaded up and on my way back to camp.
I learned a lot about Moose, had a ton of fun calling and generally just enjoyed my time in the woods. Sorry about the pics, they were the best I could muster up.
