need help finding a masher !
« on: June 18, 2014, 06:34:59 AM »
I'm looking for any info on huge bulls. I didn't draw any permits , but I do have a multi season tag so I can travel statewide. I don't know much about elk hunting but I' m a quick learner and have plenty of friend that can come help. I'm really not looking for your honey holes just a spot that I can kill a 340 plus bull with my general tag . I don't have much gear so if you have some that would be sweet . And don't worry I will take lots of pictures to share this journey with the rest of the members on here . I'm not in great shape so I prefer and area that's pretty flat with road access for a four wheeler . Thank's so much for any help in advance ! Coach

I for got to mention that my truck is getting pretty old so if we could use yours that would be great. Also I'm not a very good cook so if your wife want to tag along to cook that would be fine with me.

Too bad, I only know where there is 360 plus bulls.  So I cannot help you.

But I do have a quad with tracks so you can cut across any wet lands or any other property which you can borrow.  I have a holster for my wire cutters which has really helped me cross property with out too much hassle.

Hmmmmmmm..........seems legit...........oh heck, I know where we can get on some elk and they just stand around all day in an open area like cattle. We can chase them in my 2014 chevy with sky high jacked up lift kit, not suspension lift, nope, with 26 inch chrome and toyo mt's and since they'll be running that'd be "fair-chase" right?!?!  Don't worry nobody hangs out at this spot to watch elk because you need a discovery pass to park there. :yike: :o :chuckle: :chuckle: oh and I make pepperoni sticks that you have to eat in front of me as my fee I charge for assisting on a trophy hunt. :dunno: :IBCOOL: :chuckle:

Unfortunately I don't know how the private message function of this site works so let me just broadcast a couple of roads that lead back to a spot that I have never seen another hunter at but is full of elk, lots of cows, four or five respectable satellite bulls and normally two mashers.  If I give you the location you have to swear that your buddies that come to help you pack won't tell their buddies about it and of course anyone reading this post that just cruises the site looking for information please don't crowd in on Coach and ruin his general season tag.  There are only a few elk in this spot and if the hundreds of people that read this post today show up it will blow the elk out of the area.

Wait a minute maybe it is not a great idea to give that specific of information on the forum and I should figure out how to PM you the information instead.  ;)

I think PlateauNDN must require that shooting from the lifted truck is mandatory.  It can be from the bed or the cab.   But it has to be from the truck and you get extra pepperoni sticks if you can shoot from the moving truck.

Hunt that's a great offer and i'd be willing to shoot a bigger bull with heavier horns if you have that track thingy to carry it out for me. my funds are a lil short so if you could cover the fuel bill that would be cool, Whitpirate offered to make us some pbj sandwiches for the trip so all you need to bring is the beer .

Permission?!?! Who needs that  didn't you see that Hanford from this past year?!?!? Trophy, trophy, trophy even with the broken tines he was a 400' bull. Those "hunters" ate a whole package of sticks each and had the time of their lives on my guide service. :o I led them right to where I was feedin....I mean scouting for that bull and now they got a wall hanger. if you're willing to put 8 the work and sit in the truc....I mean "hike" you to, can have an awesome trip. :dunno: :chuckle:  also I cater, mcdonal...I mean home cooked meals each meal.

I know where there are plenty of 350+ bulls. They are all on private land. The landowners don't give out permission but you can just hunt it anyways. Since you got the quad with wire cutters already lined up that would be perfect to cut the fences. Make sure you always are driving through the seeded fields and maybe spin a couple cookies in the middle of them. So if that sounds like a good options let me know. Probably will only need a pistol cause you could just chase them down and shoot them when they are running next to you

Oh yeah almost forgot about food and fuel. We can just stop and any farm house along the was and get that. Again no need to ask stop at there fuel tanks and fill up when need. And just knock on doors when ever we are hungry and they will hand you or cook us some food. Should be pretty cheap for both of us.
