I already have the drop away rest, and the new sights. Can you think of anything i could be missing. Besides the field points for practice. Or do you see something i could live without. I'm sold on the bow so please don't try to talk me into a hoyt or matthews or bowtech.

Have you tried on that particular release? I tried on quite a few before I found the one that fit me right. I ended up getting one of the tru fire releases that is adjustable. I think you will be happy with that bow and those arrows too

Bear bows are great, I shoot the Bear Instinct and couldn't be happier.  Good advice by Antlershed on the release.  Make sure you try out a bunch before making your choice.  Even if you find one you like, you might find one that's even better.  A good, comfortable release is vital.

Not giving up on ML, we are going to Colorado elk hunting next year and we will be traveling during the first season, i have to many points to put in for a hunt that i would be able to hunt for only 3 days. We are leaving for colorado on tuesday of the early season next year. So my plan is to bow hunt elk, muzzle deer so i can still hunt with my family. I was also thinking of puting in for east side elk, but i like the idea of working my butt off during the archery season to see if i worked out hard enough for colorado.

That wouldn't be my choice for the release or for the quiver or the broadheads.  But that doesn't mean it won't be a mighty elk killer the way your setting it up.  Good luck.

For what you are going for it looks fine, I prefer scott releases though, they are the smoothest out there for a caliper.

I am scared to check Cabelas website , or store ..it is even worse  Every time i go to the store i always spend no less than $150 bucks  I don't even kill none this year ,but so far i spend over $500 dollars for some equipment  Now i am thinking about GPS ,new release ,new sights for my bow  ..well also i think i need new waterproof pants too  And i know it will be something else when ,soon  i  walk in store .

I wouldn't get the string loops, you can get more overall length and better quality ones online for under $5.  I would also select a different broadhead.  I like Magnus (stingers, buzzcuts, and snuffer ss) broadheads for their lifetime guarantee and excellent flight quality.

If you were to consider a different arrow, then you might want to look at GoldTips.  You can get a dozen XT Hunters fletched for less than $85 and they are very straight and durable.

My buddy has all the vanes and the stuff i need to fletch my own arrows.

The reason i am doing this now is i have 500$ in cabelas bucks and i can't really see anything else i really need. There is a 20 dollar off coupon and that would take care of half the tax, no shipping as i will go up there to get the stuff.

montec broadheads, a thumb release(who needs to try a release on when you can stick it in your pocket and just grab it when you need it) oh yeah go with the cabelas stalker extreme with quickspin vanes for a really accurate arrow, and a good target and some montec practice heads then you wont need field tips for practice, but other than that nothin wrong with it, actually nothin wrong with it as is im just suggesting products that ive used and had success with

Looks like a decent setup to me.
The release isn't all that bad if you're on a budget. You'll do fine with that setup--in fact, I have a very similar setup I bought this August.

The lights out is a good little bow. Just keep the it really well waxed around the module/cams and watch the serving closely...the strings aren't the greatest. I've had zero problems with my lights out.

FWIW, though, the S-coil isn't much of a stabilizer. It's light, and very little weight at the end...it's simply for shock (which is very light on the lights out to begin with).

I shot gold tips a while back did not like them, the pro shop I shoot for does not even carry them, and NO one I know shoots them... no pro shoots them, myself included.. there is a reason for that... easton IMHO makes by far the best arrows out there and I think my logical reasoning on why I dont like GT makes damn good sense

Thanks for the recomendations. I took a look at the montec cut on contact broadheads and i think i am going to change to those. I didn't intend for this thread to become a pissin match, just wanted a few different view points to my next purchase. Most likely will be made in the next few days.
Hoyt wich archery shop do you shoot for? When i was a kid i used to do all my archery shopping at Mer's, i bought my first bow there when i was 14 they let me put it on layaway and they let me shoot it in the shop as i was paying for it. I miss that place.

I was not mad at all, of course there was testing, thus my point about strength tolerance and straightness rating... not to mention I have shot them before  and never liked them.. someone else was the one that came out with the smart ass comment about me being a pro staff shooter... also ther montec or shuttle T loc will give you the best thing to field point accuracy out there, as long as they are tuned of course

Man, there are some top shooters in the state that shoot goldtips.  There proseries gold labels are pretty darn good arrows, seems to be a lot of guys up this way that like them.

Thats good for them, the majority of the state titles,national and world titles from wa come from down here... and I dont know anyone that  shoots them, maybe the pro series which would be their best of the best is a good arrow, I dont know, or really care, ill stick with my eastons and maybe buy some x10's this year for field.. 300/dz bare shaft.... best arrow in the world hands down
