Finally going to go for it. Idaho here I come.
« on: June 28, 2014, 07:49:09 PM »
I made up my mind and decided to forego my washington deer tag in order to go out if state and hunt elk in Idaho this year. I have never hunted out of state and looking forward to the new experience. My dad is getting up their in age and I want to get in as many hunting trips as possible while we can share them together. He introduced me to hunting and it is something we look forward to every year. I bought an Idaho license and tag in 2001 but never hunted with it so I am going to make sure we get the experience this year not looking for a monster bull just something bigger than a spike will be great with us.

I loved hunting Idaho for elk. I can't wait to go back in the near future. I believe I hunted 36a which proved to be a good area. We didn't find any monsters, but shooters for sure. Also, quite a few moose.

Thought about that Idaho is very generous with their non resident hunters you can use your elk tag on either an elk bear mtn lion or a wolf and they also give you a complimentary three day fishing license I won't waste my tag on a wolf though I will buy the extra tag to be able to harvest both the thing I didn't care for was the stupid convenience fee which was like 23 dollars or something for buying online or over the phone vs going to a dealer to get the tags and license less the fee. They all know how to get there money in their own ways going to have a great time regardless of the outcome

The charge for phone-in purchases is 3 percent of the transaction plus $5.50; the charge for online purchases is 3 percent of the transaction plus $3.50.

Im hunting Idaho this year also for the first time. I have been wanting to for years and finally decided to go. I really love hunting whitetails in rut and the chance at any bull. My experience with them so far has been awesome.

Leaving a week from today to setup camp and do do last minute scouting before the opener on the tenth work productivity is starting to tail off as I keep going over all my checklists in my head can't wait to get out there and chase elk up and down the hills my wife is pretty sure I'm crazy and put more effort into hunting then anything else I hope it pays off.
