Apology to Bones
« on: December 03, 2008, 09:36:08 AM »
I apologise for sending your cougar pictures to someone (not ifish) without your permission.  I just was not thinking and you have a right to be upset.
I do hope that you reconcider and continue to post your excellent photos on this site.

Gramps,  I am not mad at you or anyone else..  Your e-mail told everyone where my camera was.  With those pictures and the info in your e-mail, someone could have picked my camera right up. As soon as I saw that e-mail, that camera was moved. That is the only reason that bothered me. It is as much my fault as anyone's. Posting day pictures with distinctive landmarks in the background is not too smart. Then when someone adds the location to the pictures and  the pictures are everywhere, it is a little disturbing, at least until the camera was safe. I love mountain scenery in the background in my day pictures,  but now I can see that I will not be posting too many day pictures. I have five trail cams, and I don't want to lose any of them.

I guess I have never been one who likes political correctness.  And I don't get the internet protocol.  You have some bad ass photos man, can you blame a guy who is so impressed he wants to show others.  Believe me I understand where your coming from, I had to decide whether to share my photos or not and risk folks recognizing landmarks (not that my spots are as good as yours!!!!! :bash:) or borrowing my photos.  I cam to the decision, I get a lot of pride in sharing my pictures.  Just keeping them to myself wasn't very exciting.  Keep em coming man!

I'm impressed Gramps! I sure would have been disappointed if I wasn't able to see the postings of your pictures Bones. They are great!

Most of the time, my cameras are either on our property or one of my neighbor's properties. Everyone around here always knows where they are and they are very safe. But after the hunting seasons end, I sometimes move my cameras to somewhat risky locations, at least at other times of the year. The mountains are pretty much deserted now until shed hunting season gets here.
My pictures are my hobby and for my own enjoyment. I really don't care if anyone wants to copy or use them. This e-mail thing just surprised me and caught me by surprise. I have never e-mailed those pictures to anyone, but just about everyone I know has them.
I am very impressed with Gramps and what he has done here. I wish there were more like him around.
Gramps, If you will PM your address to me, I will send you a couple of CD's with hundreds of beautiful trailcam pictures on them. And you can send them to anyone you want.

I've seen a lot of crappy arguing and such on different threads in this site. Thanks for setting an example of how to apoligize, shake hands, and move on. Let see more of this.  :twocents:

Gramps,  I changed my mind about mailing those CD's. I live ten miles due east of you, so I will drop them off next time I go to town. Maybe you could come along to go check some cameras this winter.
