You ever had Buck/ Bull fever?
« on: July 05, 2014, 09:04:47 AM »
Got to admit it happended once when a nice Bull walked out and I knew as soon as I pulled the trigger I'd shot over him. He stood there till I was almost reloaded cause he wasn't sure of where the shot came from since I was sitting under a large fur and all he saw was the smoke. The lucky thing was when he ran he ran right into my bud who basically shot him in self defense as it ran down a trail right into him  :IBCOOL:

I missed one last year with my bow at 7 am.  Right before dark we found them and my buddy let out one cow mew.  The same bull walked out at ten feet and his arrow fell off his string half way through his draw.  The arrow fell right in front of that bulls face and he didn't miss a step.  Walked by like nothing.  We never got another shot.

I wish my back up was as good as yours!   :chuckle:

Pending on the situation.... when a big herd bull comes cashing into 15 yards im not sure if im even breathing at all :dunno: I feel like the only bodily function that works is my bow arm, eyes, an trigger finger

Thus why im addicted  :chuckle:

I had it once.

My first buck ever.

I was 16 and deer hunting in Utah and a spike wandered by.

I shot him, but he didn't go downright away.

I emptied my rifle and only hit him one other time (a grazing shot in the leg).

The first shot was fatal, but I was shaking uncontrollably after the first shot........   By the time I reloaded he was dead.

Never really had it since.   Still love to hunt.  Still get excited.   But that time I just plain lost it and was shaking like a leaf.

I was in complete body convulsions the first time I had a bull come into my stand. Lost it. The weird Thing is when iit came time to shoot it was like the world stopped and I went from shaking so bad I could hardly stand to completely calm. Like someone turned an adrenaline light switch off

First BIG bull that answered my bugle in Montana.  Trees were destroyed as high as I could reach with my bow.

I started shaking so bad, had to go sit down as the bull destroyed more timber.  Never saw him again............

Has not happened since.

I get it all the time. If I didn't I would probably quit hunting.
