Old tracking collars?
« on: July 05, 2014, 09:08:37 AM »
I have an interest in doing conversions of tracking collars for use on cage traps. If anyone wants to PM me about selling some that would be great but what I really am posting about is the value.
Cost to convert plus dollar value of new makes anything but obsolete collars the only possible option. I'm not really sure what the value is or if there are enough out there to make it worthwhile to pursue the idea.
So what are old ones worth?
Do you think there are many kicking around that guys would sell?

I can post a couple of hound sites for you and you can check out the classified.  I think you can get some good deals, but it is relative.  A lot of guys are still running both collars, the new Garmin's and the old telemetry collars, so they may not be as cheap as you are hoping for.  Let me know and I can pass along a couple of good houndsmen sites.

I still use them, 100$ is a good price for one with a fresh battery. Are you planning on using them to know if your traps are set? Just curious
