Vortex diamondback vs Leupold Yosemite
« on: July 05, 2014, 11:46:19 AM »
Hey guys - what would you take between these two?  I found a great deal on the  diamondbacks that are tempting me in that direction, any feedback on either pair?

Thanks!

Curtis

The Diamondback is a roof prism binocular. The Yosemite is a porro prism binocular.

For the money I think the Yosemite is a great value.

Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Try Redfield Rebel or Zen-Ray VISTA.  Both should compare well to Diamondback for much less money

am i mistaken or isnt refield made by leupold? good brand just wondering, i have a redfield range finder and love it. but anyway i would go with the yosemite i have a pair, they are small, light, very clear and they pick up light well even at 1k yrds + i can see well and distinguish a bear from a black stump, hard but just gotta stare at it a little bit :chuckle: thats my :twocents:

I think the Diamondback is more comparable to the Leupold Acadia.
PathfinderJR is looking at both of those binos (plus the Redfields).  I keep telling him to look at Zen Ray (I have the ED2s), but hard to find a place that carries them.  We are headed to Tacoma tomorrow for a shooting camp.  DOes anyone know if Sportco still carries Zen Rays?

I have an older pair of Yosemite in an 8x and they a great.  I got them bars on the reviews by a number of bird watchers.  The word was the 6x are incredible, the 8x are excellent.  I bought the 8x and very Happy.  I am looking at 10xand looking hard at zen ray

Hi guys I appreciate all the feedback. I ended up buying the diamondbacks and I love them!  What won me over especially was the warranty.

PathfinderJR decided to go with the Diamondbacks too.  I think what won him over was the 50 Cabela's Bucks that came with the Vortexes.  He bought them, ran them out to the parking lot, then came back inside and bought a jacket... :chuckle:  He's thrilled with the binos though.
