nate treats guide service
« on: July 06, 2014, 08:06:17 PM »
We fished with mate today and it was horrible. He showed up half hour late , which was 5:30, we should have been on river by 4:30. He packs us into a trashed blazer with his dog. No room for one let alone three. Oh yeah, never apologizes for being late. Then we realize as we are driving , this guy must be high as a kite on pills, meth, heroin. Who knows? He kept driving into the ditch, finally I called him out. Then we get to the boat launch where he takes another 40 mins to get ready, after we had to stop at gas station for bait. I mean really. Then his rock/anchor :chuckle:was dragging through the parking lot and made me jump in the water to help launch. He told us to where tennis shoes, now I'm jumping in the water, not even for a fish. Wth. Finally launch at seven. Then the sand shrimp are all dead so we run out of roe.  Anyway, obviously no fish, no knowledge of anything, no conversation on the boat, no nothing.  But we made it home alive. Thank god.  It seemed like he started to sober up by the end and maybe was a decent guide at one point, but today he was in a bad place and we got towed along for the ride.

compared to most other reviews I've read of said service...sounds like you had a good trip.
I've not read any good stuff off any of the other fishing boards from around the NW.  They go off on him and another guide unmercilessly.

He's very questionable at best. 90% reviews I have read or heard about him at negative. Very negative

He has though, made some knowledgeable posts on other forums that have made me personally change my tone towards him and his obvious lack of guiding knowledge.

Well we all are capable boaters and fisherman. Weren't worried once we got on the water. Everything I had read on Washington lakes made him sound good.  Yes we were on the sky. And when you have been looking forward to a trip for a month you don't let some idiot ruin it.

Wow, this is the first I have heard of him being a poor guide service.

Do tell of the other sites that rip him.  I know he is on Washington Lakes and I have not heard anything negative there...

piscatorial pursuits, ifish, fishcan, Washington fly fishers, probably a few more.  A lot of the stuff gets deleted by their mods.  The stuff over there for him is kind of like it is for Barbour over here.

Lots of bad post about this guy multiple times per year.  As mention, it gets nuked when they fire storm starts.  I think he is a mod on Washington Lakes, so he nukes all the post about him on that site as he tries to keep all his post as informative as possible.   :chuckle:

I saw a drift boat on the Sky yesterday using a big rock tied on as an anchor...that must have been you..  I don't know anything about your guide, but that rock/anchor caught my eye.

I know he runs a Pavati 16 foot drift boat.

That is about it...  I will do some searching on iFish and Pis Persuits.

Only thing I saw on piscatorial pursuits was some guy complaining about him using bait on the Tokul.  I don't get why that would be such a big deal, sounded more like a bitter person, I think I remember reading about it before too on WAlakes.  I haven't heard anything on ifish, but I tend to stick to the bass and panfish forum on there.  Sucks for the experience for Seatown though.
