So last year I got some new danner pronghorns and they worked awesome last season....comfy, light and kept my feet dry....well I haven't wore them till about 3 weeks ago since december when i started scouting and my feet got soaked....do I need to be treating these boots to keep them from leaking? If so what do you guys use to treat them?

Was it really wet where you were walking or was it just possibly sweat from your feet. I have pronghorns. Not my favorite boot by danner but I have had them for about 5 years and they still don't leak. If they really were leaking then I would send them back to danner they should not leak, but if your feet sweat alot then your gonna end up with wet socks. Gortex can only get rid of so much moisture in your boots.

Sorry to hear. The pronghorn is the reason I will never buy danner again. China made poor quality.

I have a pair or pronghorns myself and absolutely love them for hunting during the early archery season just because of how light and comfortable they are. I'm convinced that they have leaked since day one. I oil them
Regularly and just use them during August and September and summer scouting

I have been doing some reading about the pronghorns and the high ground by Danner and it seems that all the china made models have a lot of issues.

I have 2 pair and love how comfortable they are, however, they both leak after their first years in the field. The soles and stiching has held up for years so I keep using them. I plan on getting wet so I rotate between them and use a gortex sock. That has been working for me. I heard they started making them in portland again, is this true???

The pair I looked at Yesterday said made in China on the label and the High Ground label says made in Vietnam.

Based on the reviews and reports I've read on here, I'd suggest a lot of stuff besides Danners. Repeat over and over reports of leaky Danners.

I agree the boots made overseas for Danner are lacking in quality. My current pair are "made in China" and they were fine for a year but they leak now. My original pair of Danner Pronghorns were made in the USA and they were great boots for many years. Never had any leaks or issues until I blew out a sole while chukar hunting but that was in my 7th year of owning them. I wish they were still made in USA, I would buy another pair.

I have been looking at the Cabelas brand boots as they have a lifetime warranty on them.

Bought the High Ground last year, good boot. No leakage. I think alot of the leaking claims are actually sweaty feet from too heavy socks, over insulation in the boots and generally being over dressed. As for treating my boots I clean them thoroughly then spray down with silicon waterproofing. I like the look of Danners new Gila.
