« on: July 23, 2014, 08:45:06 AM »
Hi there everyone! Well one if my gal friends and I are trying to plan a rabbit hunting trip for just the 2 of us girls. Problem is...neither of us have been rabbit hunting before  :dunno:

What I'm looking for is any advise on areas near Snohomish/ Monroe. Plus any little tips some of you more experienced rabbit hunters might have.

Thanks a billion!

I personally have not. But my friend has and says its super tasty. Which seams to be the general consensus. My mom has a few recipes that where my grampa's that use rabbit meat so if I can get myself a rabbit or 2 I figure I could try them out.

My best advice to you is head to Whidbey island and you will have to many rabbits to kill.

best to know someone with some property of course.
A remarkable experience is one where the pain is forgotten so quickly, the frustrations and struggles are forgotten the minute you’re done.

I can’t wait to do it the next time.

I wouldn't mind Whidbey except the lack of knowing people up there with property. Just really trying to find somewhere close by maybe only an hr drive. So towards mount Vernon even would be ok. Or out towards gold bar/ skykomish...?

On 203 going from Monroe to Devall on the left side of the road just before Devall is some public hunting grounds, There should be rabbits there. I see people with bird dogs hunting there in the fall. Farther on 203 o the right side of the road is another public hunting ground, At this one you need to use steel shot only. This place is closer to Fall City just befor that little country store on the right. If you cand find them I could meet you in Monroe and show you where these places are.

Actually I do know where both of those places are... I wasn't sure what the rules were regarding hunting other than birds. In fact the one right before Duvall is right by were my new job is :-)
