To all of you who think your camera was stolen
« on: July 20, 2014, 12:10:33 PM »
I recently had my camera out for a 2 month soak on private property.  I was just sure i would have tons of pictures but when i went out to check for the camera it was gone.  I didn't have a lot of time so i just looked around the tree and figured it had been stolen...I also had one stolen last year.  A week later I went in to hang a new camera and did some more thorough looking around.  about 10 foot from the tree i found the camera strap in some ground brush.  This prompted some more looking and after about 15 minutes of looking by 3 people we found the camera 15 feet from the tree in the other direction under some brush.  I have had cameras rubbed by elk before where they were turned the wrong direction but never pulled completely off the tree.  I have lots of pictures of the camera laying on the ground being kicked around and snapping pics.  Just thought i'd let you know if your camera is missing look around really good.  It was not easy to find, but thats 200 dollars back in my pocket. The last picture is where the camera ended up.  No more putting cams low on trees for me.

Bears like to eat them too, always good to make the rounds in the area if you're in bear country.
