2014-2015 hunting dates
« on: July 21, 2014, 01:01:09 PM »
Hello all,

I can't seem to find the dates for this upcoming season. Does anyone know the youth dates and then the official opener date?

Thank you

Sorry I gave you last year's dates.  It should be a day earlier.

Very encouraging.  Let's hope that it holds true.

It all depends on weather and what's happening up north.  I know last season, we finally receive all our wind and rain the week after the season and the birds showed up by the thousands.  They had been holding up in the Frasier Valley.  They had lot of food and mild weather holding them.  We still saw birds, but not like we have in years past.  Hopefully weather is in our favor.

Don't do it - don't buy into it.  I feel like every year I read about the upcoming balmy winter ahead or this will be the best duck year in ages.  Only to be disappointed come Oct/Nov looking and blue bird warm, no wind day after day.

It's like the M's - just when you're ready to believe you're left looking up in disbelief.

I don't care how many ducks they claim there will be this year. You need the weather to have consistently good hunts. Over here I like to see it freeze and thaw and throw in some wind. Whatever it takes to keep the birds off balance so they keep on the move.
