Chicken stalker

Spotted this guy yesterday stalking our chikens again. We've seen him before but would run off before I could get my rifle. Yesterday I was in my garage with the door open and he caught my eye,  lurking by the horses looking uphill towards the chickens. I didn't have a great shot but thought it was good enough. Just over 100yards I squeezed one off  and he jumped high spun twice and fell over. The he got up and ran off into the forest. I searched all over for blood but could not find any. I thought maybe I grazed him but my wife  found him today under the circling vultures. He  circled back to neighbors property and there he lays.

What do you do with the body when on private land? My neighbor allows me full access so no trespass concerns.  Can't leave it there, can't throw it in trashcan, I have a backhoe I guess I'll bury it. ??

They are thick lately, lost another chicken right in front of the garage a few days ago. Morning hours they seem most active probably since its cool. One on the camera yesterday and another one was close to the barn today, he spotted me sneaking out of the garage and bailed before I could shoot. Its a cat and mouse game now. I'll be ready tomorrow..

We lost three geese and a duck to the yotes earlier this year. Every one of them was nabbed after we left for work, just before the suns starts to come up.

It's getting ridiculous and we leave for a week starting Wednesday. Gonna have to prep the farm sitter.

Thanks for offer. I'm one for one on shots but man they are Wiley! you'll get one when timing is right. This morning the goats gave it away, they were ear pointed and stiff as a board in the same direction.. and the ducks quacked and huddled together, there are signs, I'm learning..

Yeah when we lost the geese I was completely surprised. Turns out they were leaving the safety of the horse pasture and nesting in the long grass outside the fence. The duck we lost had her head stuck under the walls on the pen and got drug through. If the horses are awake they tend to do a pretty good job of keeping the critters out. God have mercy on the first one stupid enough to try something while the wife's 900 lb babies are up.

The one in the picture was about 20ft from the paddocks, our 900lb beasts probably thought it was one of our dogs. They were more interested in their hay!
