Moose on the loose
« on: December 05, 2008, 11:25:57 AM »
So there I am, working away when I look out the window and see this really nice 4x4 whitetail standing across the street(I work out of my house).  This isn't that uncommon.... there are several nice bucks running around my neighborhood.  Then I notice something that looks out of place.  I get my old binos and there are 2 bull moose about 25 yards behind the buck in some tall grass and brush.  I watch em for a few minutes then run and grab my camera.  When I head out I don't see em.  I sneak over toward the last place I saw em and there they are bedded down.  There's 1 really nice 40+" bull with decent fronts and another real young 1 about 36".  I got several shots from about 45 yards w/ a 200mm lense.  Unfortunately, I don't think it was enough to really do the big guy justice.  Will download and post pictures shortly.

When it stops raining I'm gonna sneak back over and see if I can get better shots.  It appears the bigger of the 2 doesn't have the fronts that I thought.

Scroll to the right on the bottom to see the lil guy.

Intruder, there has been a dandy 5x5 hanging over by my place the last 6-8 days, been seeing a lot more bucks in the neighborhood this year.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

There's was a monster 6x5 I saw 2 times last year... 155" easy.  Haven't seen anything big this year.  Well, except these moose  :chuckle:

Man thats just cool!!!! We have a few nice bucks running around my area, but with the building going on you only see them at night. I do see a very nice 4pt on a semi regular basis over near the boys ranch.

wow...thats awesome. we had a blacktail doe in my neighborhood this year...oh and a few stray cats. that was exciting too.

i love western washington...i keep telling myself that.

great pics, intruder. seems i'd much rather live in your neighborhood than mine.
